Thanks to modern orthodontics we are able to treat even very advanced malocclusions and to bring a beautiful smile to a patient's face by adjusting the alignment of his or her teeth. We offer treatment by permanent and removable orthodontic devices. Available devices include: sapphire braces (almost invisible), devices located on the back (palatal or tongue) side of the teeth (completely invisible). We co-operate with an experienced orthodontist. Before the treatment starts we arrange a consultation visit, where we perform a detailed examination and take panoramic X-ray pictures.
Root Canal Treatment
Our practice is equipped with a state-of-the-art root canal treatment system for cleaning and broadening even very narrow root canals and a nickel-titanium (NiTi) rotating instrument system. Sometimes what we usually call a root canal is in fact a whole system of branched or forked canals, spreading like a river delta (hence the name - root delta ). This whole space has to be cleaned and disinfected. Remainders of tissue left over in the canal are a feeding ground for bacteria, which can re-initiate an inflammation.
Thanks to Obtura and Touch'n'Heat thermal condensation technique of root canal filling we can hermetically fill even the most curved and branched canals. A tooth treated that way can successfully serve the patient for many years, and the root itself can be used for future complex prosthetic reconstruction.

Treatment of Periodontal Desease
Over 10 percent of the world's population suffers from periodontal disease. In Croatia this percentage is even higher, approximately 70% of population. The disease appears around 30 years of age and affects more men than women.
Periodontal disease is a disease of periodontal tissues. It is caused by long-lasting inflammation as a result of bacteria building up at the contact zone between teeth and gums. Multiplying bacteria lead to destruction of structures supporting the tooth in the tooth pocket.
The cause of the disease cannot always be determined. The most common factors include lack of sufficient oral hygiene, decreased immunity, hereditary factors, long-lasting stress, and smoking. A direct and primary cause of development of periodontal diseases is the formation of bacterial plaque due to negligence of everyday oral hygiene. Further irregular and improper brushing leads to formation of tartar, a new, hard structure on tooth surface. It constitutes a perfect surface for further multiplication of bacteria. Tartar injures and damages gingiva, initiating its inflammation (gingivitis).
Unhealed, long-lasting gum inflammation, resulting from bacterial activity and toxins, leads to weakening of connective tissue fibers, connecting the tooth to the bone. Lowered gums and creation of periodontal pockets reflect it. The destruction of connective tissue leads to weakening the teeth in the tooth pocket and falling out of individual or several teeth.

Premedication
This solution is useful for patients who are especially afraid of the dentist. One our before operation the patient receives medication (in the form of a pill) making a completely stress-free visit in the chair possible.

What is Emdogain?
Emdogain is a biology-based preparation manufactured by a Swedish firm Biora AB. It reflects a new, biological concept of periodontal tissue regeneration: being based on following the biological processes occurring during natural formation of teeth, Emdogain restores tooth supporting structures destroyed by periodontal disease, fully maintaining their structure and functions.
The most important component of Emdogain is amelogenine, a protein produced by human organism only during the tooth formation period in the fetal period. It plays a vital role in the formation of tooth and its structures.
No undesired effects of use of Emdogain have been observed.
How does Emdogain work?
The tooth is fixed by a special supporting structure in the tooth socket. It consists of root cement, periodontal ligament, alveolar bone, and alveolar ridge. Collagen fiber links root cement with bone structures. Emdogain physiologically regenerates tooth-supporting structures. Putting the preparation on tooth surface gives a chance of regeneration of lost structures. Regeneration means repetition of natural formation processes of tooth supporting structures, normally occurring in childhood. Emdogain gives you a chance to keep your own teeth.

The ARCUS digma "3D ultrasound navigator" is such an up-to-date diagnostic instrument which allows us to analyze the kinematics of the mandible. The equipment gives insight into the condylar and incisal points, the synchronous spatial movement of the right and left condylar points and the kinematic axis, its change of speed that can all refer to discoordination, limitation of movement, hypermobility leading to functional disorders. After taking medical and dental history, clinical examination and X-ray diagnosis we examined people (new patients) suffering from TMJ dysfunction with the ARCUS digma, too. We present some typical functional mandibular movements. We can not only rely on subjective judgements but it also provides an objective diagnosis based on numerical data. It does not replace but rather complies with the conventional methods and puts the diagnostic and therapeutical procedures known so far into a new dimension. The results demonstrate that this sort of investigation will not put an end to the necessity of traditional procedures used up till now but complete them, and at the same time it provides diagnostic surplus and it is indispensable for patients suffering from dysfunctional disorders to be treated in a modern way.

NTI is a transparent splint worn on anterior teeth. 4 out of 10 people clench their jaws or grind their teeth in their sleep. Due to intensive muscle contraction typical to jaw clenching and grinding, pain appears in adjacent tissues, joints and muscles. By reducing the biting force we reduce the immediate cause of pain. Thus, we break the negative functional pattern.
